….reminisce of summer. My hands were so frozen I was unable to take any actual beach photos or photos of anything..really.

I don’t think summer will come this year.

It’s getting installed tomorrow + completely bathroom overhaul!!

I have been controlling her food and pushing her to go for walks. She is 1/2 size now. She will live another 150 years.

She’s a little bit flabby now….but aren’t we all?

Today is ANOTHER huge organization day. Tomorrow is new toilet day and the beginning of bathroom renos. Fuck yeah!!

My current mattress is a few years old but still perfectly fine. All foam, nice and firm, perfect. I’ve always wanted a rigid topper to firm it up even more and always thought having a slightly taller bed would be way cooler and aristocratic. Why the fuck did I wait so long to buy this??? Last week I picked up the cheapest firm mattress topper from Amazon made by a German company (120 Euros). It arrived super compressed in a box (even the courier only charged me 16 Euros) and it took all of a minute to deploy. The difference is staggering, not only is the bed wayyyy more comfortable and firm (and the old mattress was already amazing to begin with) but the added height (yes, it’s only 7cm, H4 firmness if you care, I wouldn’t go higher) somehow makes everything a lot more luxurious. I am sooo happy.

Birdie, of course, loves the added elevation!!!

Additionally, I have done 3 wash/dry cycles in the new Samsung machine and having a reservoir for washing fluid is crazy awesome, how did I live without it? I set the computer to just add a little bit (sent all my washes to minimum, including amount of detergent) at each wash and half a bottle of the stuff should last me a couple of months +, really.

But, most importantly, being able to throw my stuff into the washing portal-hole, pressing one button and coming back a few hours later to super clean and nice smelling and fluffy dry clothes (YES…..FINALLY, FLUFFY DRY..just like having a real Canadian-style dryer) is just insane. This tech actually works…it really, really works.

The old machine also had a dryer and the clothes would certainly come out “dryer” but still somewhat moist and hot and weird feeling…

This is an actual dryer!!! AMAZING.

Ohh..and the WiFi part is cool, too.

OHHHH..and the machine plays a delightful melody at the end of each cycle – almost like a Christmas carol.

Because I am a good person.

…because of the ongoing renos..but I see the light at the end of the kitchen. I will make chicken liver/mushroom pate….everything is still a bit of a mess.

I have LITERALLY gutted every single item from the apartment….down to concrete…..craziness.

Bought 8 kiwis, my daily allotment of 2 beers and a HUGE PORTION of chicken livers – heaven!!!

…with a new kettle from La Creuset…BOY WAS I WRONG. I was hoping for a fancy, heavy kettle made in France – a conversation piece? Instead I got a thin metal jug made in Thailand THAT FUCKING COST ME 80Euros. I yelled at Amazon and I am getting a refund.

La Creuset stuff is generally AWESOME and fancy…this is a $2 camping kettle, at best.
